Investcorp Closes $1.22 Billion North American Private Equity Fund II, Surpassing Initial Target
Investcorp's newly closed North American Private Equity Fund II raised $1.22 billion, surpassing its $1.1 billion target. It focuses on middle-market growth services companies with robust EBITDA and non-cyclical demand.
Investcorp has officially announced the successful final close of its North American Private Equity Fund II (NAPE Fund II), raising an impressive $1.22 billion in total capital. The final figure significantly exceeds the firm's initial $1.1 billion target, marking a major milestone for the global investment manager. This achievement is particularly notable given the broader macroeconomic headwinds and what Investcorp explicitly described as a distinctly "challenging fundraising environment".
Led by Steve Miller, Co-Head of North American Private Equity, and supported by Dale O'Connell, the recently appointed Head of Investor Relations and Fundraising for the NAPE business, the fund attracted robust global interest. Institutional commitments poured in from a highly diversified pool of limited partners spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. This broad geographic makeup reflects deep confidence from both long-time backers and fresh institutional capital alike.
Fund II is laser-focused on a highly selective investment strategy, targeting middle-market companies that generate between $10 million and $50 million in EBITDA. Specifically, Investcorp is channeling this capital exclusively into growth services businesses across two core verticals: business and professional services, and commercial services. The ideal target companies operate within highly fragmented markets, boast relatively stable, non-cyclical demand, and benefit from long-term secular growth tailwinds.
Furthermore, Investcorp’s strategy heavily leverages a co-investment model. By offering co-investment opportunities to its institutional backers, the firm deepens its limited partner relationships and retains the flexibility to make decisions based purely on growth potential rather than typical equity check constraints.
NAPE Fund II is already actively deploying capital into the market with two major platform investments. The very first is Guardian Fire Services, a Nashville-based fire protection and life safety services company that has rapidly expanded through strategic acquisitions. The second major platform is Berger Financial Group, a Plymouth, Minnesota-based registered investment advisor. The Berger acquisition was the culmination of a multi-year effort to pinpoint the perfect opportunity within the competitive wealth management space. Together, these initial acquisitions underscore Investcorp’s commitment to building a resilient, high-growth portfolio that consistently delivers strong returns, setting a highly promising trajectory for the fund's future performance and long-term success.
