Palo Alto Networks and CrowdStrike each announced acquisitions in the same week, part of an accelerating consolidation trend as the largest cybersecurity platform vendors race to offer unified suites spanning identity, cloud, and endpoint security.
Both deals are structured as tuck-in acquisitions of point-solution vendors with strong technology but limited standalone distribution, a pattern that has defined the majority of cybersecurity M&A activity over the past two years.
Why consolidation is winning
Chief information security officers have increasingly told vendors they prefer fewer, deeper platform relationships over managing dozens of point products, a preference the largest vendors are capitalising on through aggressive tuck-in M&A rather than organic product development alone.
